I hope you haven’t thought that we forgot the dogs in Bogrov and left them without walks just before Christmas. Because nothing like that happened. We managed to walk all 500 muzzles and to share with them the Christmas spirit and the happy feelings we had insight us.
On Tuesday, 18th of December, the kids from the Anglo-American school came in Bogrov for walks. They took out two cages – 21st and 1st. The dogs spent a long time outside with the kids, playing, running and enjoying every second not believing in their luck – to go out in a week day.
During the weekend we took out all the other dogs. With more or less volunteers we managed to do it. We couldn’t let ourselves leave those great dogs sad and without a walk just before some of the most wonderful holidays. We made our Christmas gifts for the dogs – we walked them, loved them, caressed them, we showed them that we won’t forget them because of the holidays and will keep going in the shelter.
We finished the week with a small volunteer – staff party. With cakes and homemade yummies we enjoyed a few minutes for ourselves – to see each other, to talk with the other volunteers and the staff of the shelter, to congratulate each other for the work done this year and to make a wish for more adopted dogs next year.
We’ll be waiting for you again this week – to see and walk the dogs one last time before the new 2013 year and to bring joy in 500 dog hearts. See you in the shelter!
