Then and now – Tashunko at the shelter and with his best buddy in Holland
We crossed path two years ago – just another sad homeless fellow. Skinny, ill with Distemper, a sad dog we could not bring to the shelter, risking the infection of our other 500 dogs.
Of course, we couldn’t leave him outside either. So Tashunko came home (after a small family scandal, since we already had Pencho and Nikita fostered, besides our own two dogs).
Tashunko had the neurological form of Distemper and hopes of recovery were very low. We were then wandering what kind of force was keeping him clinged to life, but we now know: it was the future he hoped for, the future that is now his reality: a happy life, a home, people to be loved by and love back.
Bulgaria is now just a distant memory, a small tick he has and an even bigger urge to hold on to the love of his new mom – Carola. I paid a visit to their lovely family list time I was in Holland and he recognized me…
A year and a half ago Tashunko left his life behind and changed his name. He is now Rowdy, a loved member of Carola’s family with two wonderful children.
„I can talk for hours about Rowdy. It is a special dog who needs a special approach. He has so much progress in eighteen months…“ says Carola.
There’s no need for many words, Rowdy’s photos from his new world are more than enough to assure you of the long way he has passed – from the streets of Bulgaria to an amazing happiness in Holland.
Thank you, Carola!
