Sad, but true – more and more cats need help. We have never seen so many dumped litters of kittens – only a year ago there were puppies everywhere, but this year was the year of the cats. And unfortunately, this is only the beginning -the number of stray dogs decreases and normally and expected – the number of cats increases.
We are still looking for the best way to deal with cats. There are too many cats in distress and not enough foster homes, but cats are not smaller dogs. From personal experience we know – there are a lot of dogs that can actually be happy in a shelter – not in every shelter, of course, because they need love and attention, but they can be happy. But this is not the case with the cats – keeping cats in cages makes them suffer from a lot of diseases, caused only by the stress. Anyway, we know we will find the best way to help cats as well as we do it for dogs…
And here is a group of happy cats, that doesn’t need our efforts any more:
This is Javier. He was found without a tale and a missing ear, but what caused that – we can only guess. And it is not important, because from now on, Javier is a citizen of Austria!
The two sisters – Petya and Pipilota – will also learn German language, but in Germany, not in Austria:)
Puhi and Alli also were lucky, like the above ones, and lived in foster homes, while waiting for adoption. Also happy Germans now!
The rest weren’t that lucky – when they were dumped we hadn’t free foster home, so they spent long and unpleasant months in cages.
Dinya was everyone’s favourite! She got her name (means “watermelon” in Bulgarian) because of her stripes and cuteness! Goodbye, Dinya! All the best in Holland!
The kittens from the following litter don’t have names – they look so similar, almost like brothers… Wait! What? They are brothers!
But soon, their Dutch adopters will find the best names for our sweethearts!
Michael and Lincoln were already adopted once, when they were sweet kittens. And came back in the shelter a year after that – we think these were the unhappiest cats ever. We are so extremely happy their stay in a cage is over – they left Bulgaria for good! Hellooo, Holland!
And at the end are Zoro and Ziggi. They are so lucky to survive – one night they were thrown over the fence of the shelter. It was a miracle to find them well – 1. The dogs didn’t harm them and 2. Their “flight” over the 2 meters high fence didn’t harm them.
Well, that’s all, folks! 15 happy cats, 15 lives – saved!
