Hello, Friends 🙂
Most of you know me and for the rest, let me introduce myself – my name is d-r Gergushka and I am one of the vets at the Bogrov shelter. I became a part of the team a little over a year ago. After I first declined the offer of working there, because I thought it would be just too much for me, I saw a small TV-spot about the shelter and realized how much I miss the place, that it is MY PLACE to be there. And I think that every one of you, that has been touched by the little miracle this shelter is – feels the same.
You have no idea what a great joy it is for a doctor to be able to help a desperate, helpless dog in trouble and see the sadness in its eyes be replaced with a happy spark as it becomes a happy, tail-wagging friend. Yes, it is hard to live through the sad stories of all the unfortunate souls and witness their suffering, but it is so worth it!
D-r Stankova and I do Spay/Neuter surgeries every day. I realize the impact of our work when we write down the numbers of neutered animals. Every fear and effort in our surgeries makes sense when you know that there are thousands of lives saved every week. What goes on in the shelter really matters and it is a shame that the government doesn’t help it go on.
In only in 1 year of work I have seen so many miracles happen, so many wonderful animals’ lives were changed for the better. I felt so loved by all our dogs. I wept for them… And not for a moment did I doubt it – this is where I belong.
Please, Friends, help us make a new shelter! Help these miracles continue! Let us give a chance to many more furry sweethearts, to give them the homes they dream of, the human friends they deserve! I know there are many of us and we can stand strong!
d-r Ralitsa 🙂
