Rita is a young girl, about a year old. She was a shy, timid creature, living on the street near one of our volunteers’ home. Than she was caught to be castrated at the municial center, but the catchers damaged her badly. One of her eyes was lost to a anaesthetic needle, but that wasn’t the worst. She was returned to the street neutered, but with a second needle stuck in her pelvis, terrified and in pain.
It took our volunteer days before she was able to catch her and the surgery was long and difficult. It was performed by d-r Stankova at the Bogorv clinic, you can see photos of the surgery (WARNING! Graphic content!) Image 1, Image 2. After the sergery Rita had to stay at the shelter for her recovery. At first she was in agony from any contact with humans. She couldn’t bear to be touched or handled, she shied away and simply got paralized with with fear. But after a little while she began to open up!
Now Rita is a friendly, curious girl who likes to go on walks and enjoyes human company. She is being fostered by D-r Stankova and is really loving her new style of life – food and freinds. Rita is looking for a kind human to keep her walking steadily towards happiness and trust in people. Have no doubt – if you give this tender girl a home, you will be really helping a soul in need.
