Our patients: Ira

With so many new patients, we’re short of time to tell you about the old ones. Today, however, we are fixing this injustice with a post about Ira – the little one whose life we saved with your help!

Ira, who was hit by a car, was on the brink of survival – her internal organs were crushed and dislocated, and both her legs were broken. Dr. Luchkova performed an emergency operation on her and relocated her viscera. Dr. Dimitrov took up the baton and operated on the legs.

Ira survived!
About one of the legs news is not good – young babies require an immediate reaction, and Ira had been lying unfound for who knows how long. The muscle contracture is serious and despite bone repair and rehabilitation, the leg is not recovering well.

With the second one, luckily, everything is fine. At the moment, we have nothing to do about the contracture – once the “healthy” leg heals, we would seek options for the other one.

Ira is now recovering, and to protect her from diseases, we started her vaccination scheme. Despite all she has been through, Ira has turned out to be quite the joker and is one of the favorites around here. We can’t wait for her to be fully vaccinated so we can submit her for everyone to cuddle!
