Gods must be crazy

Winter is here! Beautiful snowflakes float around the heads, full of thoughts of Christmas and gifts!

The first snow though, wasn’t a happy moment for us. 4 (yes – four!) dogs and 2 cats were brought in our clinic for just a few days, after they were hit by cars. Speed plus snow equals suffering, isn’t it?

“Franziska” clinic is full and working over capacity, we’ve told you that before. But, please, take a look at our new patients. How to say “No”, how to reject helping them?

Claudia

Claudia is a gentle girl. Her paw was so swollen at arrival, broken at two places… but her tail was wagging and her tongue was kissing the helping hands of our vets.

She had to be operated urgently – the pain must have been horrible.

Walter

Only a few hours after Claudia, a second bearded friend arrived, after his meeting on an icy road with a car – Walter. His operation was also urgent – with so young animals the bones heal fast and when it is not fixed and heal badly, the orthopedist must brake it again.

In order to avoid this, Walter was also urgently operated on credit.

Botev

Found on the road, this elderly boy wasn’t as lucky as the youngsters above. He was accepted in shock, with many internal traumas and blood in the stomach. For him the broken leg was the smallest problem – first we had to save his life!

Thank God, Botev survived the first danger! He is now waiting on a queue for an orthopedic examinations and most probably – operation as well.

Claus

This sweet puppy was rescued by a good woman, who saw how large dogs attack and bite him. Once he came to us, we noticed a big wound on his hip, but it couldn’t be caused by the dogs – it was something old. X-rays showed he was injured some time ago, the bone was broken, but got infected.

We are now fighting the infection with antibiotics, but once his condition improves, his leg will have to be operated – the bone broken again and fixed.

Plamen

Plamen is fully paralized, but wasn’t hit by a car or sick. He is just old…

We know there is no place for more dogs here…but how to return a paralized sweetheart like him on the street? Now Plamen lives in our dressing room. It isn’t exactly a home, but it is warm and he is loved….

Boyana

Just like Plamen, Boyana isn’t here, because we can save her. Unfortunately, we did everything possible, but it just isn’t enough.
This sweet old lady came with horrible tumors.

The main tumor was more than 3 kilos and we decided to operate her. Unfortunately, almost all organs are also affected by the cancer and the only thing we can do from now on is to love her and keep her without pain.

Dear friends,

Funds are desperately needed. We have even been thinking of closing the clinic, as the debts are enormous. But…how to let them down? How to leave them to die outside?
