Gerda – abandoned with an embeded collar

Young sweetheart Gerda was found wandering in the snow yesterday: cold, hungry and with an embeded collar. It had so tightly squeezed her neck that she got a huge round wound on her neck. Photos of Gerda’s neck WARNING – GRAPHIC IMAGES

What happened to Gerda – we don’t know. Her tail is cut in half, she has the remains of a tattoo in her ear, but is not neutered. We speculate that she was perhaps sold for a German Shepherd and then abandoned when the owners realised she has no breed. In any case – Gerda was someones pet.

She is absolutely friendly and well-behaved, knows to ride a car, walk on a leash and is obedient and gentle with people.

She is now stationed at the Bogrov clinic, but unless some miracle happens we will not be able to keep her in the shelter – there is no room. It would be such a shame to have her returned to the street when she’s healthy. We’ll be hoping for that miracle…

This is Gerda being shy, with the lead tied arround her waste to avoid discomfort:
