Birma goes to Austria

Birma had a hard life… She was someones pet. Thеn that person went to live abroad and gave her to a friend. That friend couldn’t take care of her, because he lost his job and left town and passed her on to a third person. And it was he who dumped her on the street.

Birma was young and new on the street. She had no idea what to do and started hanging around the biggest garbage bins in the neighbourhood. She soon got pregnant and gave birth to her first litter, none of the puppies survived. Birma learnt quickly to avoid people and began to compete for her own space with the other unfortunate dogs in the area.

As time passed and she was pregnant again ARS co-founder and activist Jana came upon her whilst monitoring her “Neuter Area” (a few neighbourhoods Jana monitors for new arrival dumped females – she makes sure all dogs are neutered in the area). Jana brough the pregnant Birma for neutering in Bogrov and decided she shouldn’t go back to the street – such a large guard dog can easily become a threat or just frighten the people around to an extent that she could be killed.

Birma waited long months in Bogrov to be adopted. She has now left for Germany where Tierhilfe Seuden will find the best family for her.
