Every weekend the Senior volunteers organize walks for the dogs at the Farm. This is the most loved and anticipated time for our little prisoners.
Thanks to the people who come in the weekends each of the dogs gets their moment outside the cage, some running, loads of love and a few minutes of personal attention we cannot otherwise provide.
Old or young, shy or enthusiastic – there is no greater joy for the little Farmers thank to leave the cage with a person who cares about them. The contact with new people is the first step of making a stray dog into a pet.
How things happen
Walks start at 11 a.m. and end at about 04 p.m.
When you arrive, make sure you read the rules on the wall and sign that you understand them (only on your first visit). The Senior volunteers will give you a dog to walk, make sure you remember which cage it came from. Please, follow the order, so that no dogs are neglected and left un-walked.
Don’t forget to bring:
- Suitable shoes and clothes for the season, and clothing to change after work;
- Water and something to eat if you’re coming for the whole day;
- A bag of cut sausages/ treats (will make you popular with the dogs);
- A smile and a good mood (will make you popular with us).
