It doesn’t stop snowing. And the shelter is so overcrowded that there isn’t even enough space for everyone under its roof…
The lucky ones definitely make use of the floor heating. The babies sleep on the warm patches. But we are running out of heating pellets and haven’t yet found a sponsor for December, they will soon lose that warm privilege…
We moved a few cages of adult dogs who get along well outside – to the walking yards. They are big, they know what winter feels like and will handle it. We used their space to bring in some puppies who really need the warmth. But even with the heating, the cold weather always brings colds and pneumonia to our 60+ puppies…
There is no space inside for these two litters, they have to live in the snow… You may already know two of them – Kalina and Akela, they are faces from our 2017 charity calendar. Are you able to purchase it – for yourselves, or friends, or the office? If you can, please do, you will be helping us cope through a difficult time – overcrowded in the cold…
A ton of heating pellets costs between 350 and 400 BGN. When it’s as cold as this, it will be enough to keep half of the shelter and the clinic warm for about 10 days. The weekly costs for medications and vaccines of animals on the spot are about 500BGN; we also have many visiting patients from the street who receive free treatments and what is more – our dogs need nearly as twice as much food as usual, because of the cold – we really need help…
Choose our charity calendar – for yourselves, for a gift, for the office – it will make you smile a whole year and you will also be helping the dogs in it – so they can make it through the winter and go home.
You can also support us with a donation – so that our dogs can be as happy in the December snow, as they were today…
It’s been 7 years since Animal Rescue Sofia began saving lives and moving forward, because you have our back.
Yes, we cannot save everyone, but everyone can help someone. And together, we already did so much for so many.
Thank you for always being there for the dogs, dear friends!
