Feb 3rd to 7th, 2010:
Eight Dutch volunteers of Animal Rescue Sofia came to Bulgaria for a 3-day visit during which various issues related to helping homeless pets were discussed. Maryke, Karin, Janneke, Simone, Margaret, Ada, Suzanne and Desiree had a tough agenda aiming at finding better and more sustainable solutions for the homeless animals in Bulgaria.
Together with our Bulgarian team they visited the municipal isolator in Seslavci, as well as the shelter in Gorni Bogrov. A number of important meetings were also held, that would hopefully foster further the current lobbying and cooperation efforts paid by the Dutch-Bulgarian partnership “Animal Rescue”.
Among those are meetings with:
- Mr.Petrov and Mrs.Zaharieva – the director and the PR of “Ecoravnovesie” the municipal company that manages the stray dogs of Sofia and runs the Seslavci dog pound;
- Mrs.Atanassova – MATRA and Justice and Home Affairs Advisor at the Dutch Еmbassy in Bulgaria;
- d-r Bobadova and the team of “Dobro Hrumvane” animal hospital;
- local partners from other organizations involved in the same cause – BSAPP and Vier-Pfoten (we must do this more often!);
- Mrs.Makedonska who has made our beautiful logo;
- active volunteers from the dailapa.dog.bg forum.
