…or just: Croissant. Tall, elegant, with this irresistibly bright fiery color, she immediately gets noticed by every newcomer – “Can I walk this dog”. “You better don’t” – is the unexpected and untypical answer for Bogrov – “She’s a bit unsocial”.
Croissant came in the shelter as a puppy. Normally the timid, unsocial puppies that enter the cages of Bogrov, after some time and contact with volunteers and staff, encounter the pleasure of communication and love of people. Normally. With some exceptions, one of which is Croissant. So much time, patience and efforts took the volunteers to show her loyalty and love J Well, of course there were some results – Cro started lining up in front of the door of the cage together with the impatient for a walk, but the mistrust of putting on a leash remained; she would go for a walk with desire, but each look towards her or act of attention was scaring her and making her alert: people – how much can you trust them… So with this behavior, although pretty, Croissant did not have any chances to leave the shelter.
This is why part of the volunteers decided to send Croissant to school, camp, or whatever you want to call it, to help her socialize J Almost half a year now, Croissant is in a foster home with quite a big dog company. You would think she is now one radiant, jumping and melting under the tenderness of people girl! Not quite. Yes, you got it right; she is NOT a silly, affectionate dog! Hey, it’s Croissant! You should understand that Croissant is not a regular dog! She is one of these rare dog-cranks, prima-donnas, divas or I don’t know what else (unfortunately, there are such within dogs too!). Well we also figured it out, finally! Croissant loves life, she enjoys dog company (since a puppy she’s been surrounded by many like her), she probably loves people as well – in her own way – as caretakers. Of course – they care for her food, sometimes she lets them pet her – once in a while they deserve a treat too! It seems like Croissant does not need people to enjoy life! People may well be into the picture unless they’re not asking for too much closeness, embrace or other similar silly things! We now know, she showed us. As silly as we people might be, we finally understood – Croissant would not change anymore.
So we’re looking for someone who would want her and accept her the way she is – a bit mistrustful, arrogant maybe, reserved. It’s obligatory that another dog is present; it would be good if there’s a yard or simply a larger home, where there would be enough space for the princess to seclude herselfJ Or maybe no one has yet won the heart of the fiery beauty! So she can truly be happy to see him, to wait for him, and to follow him everywhere. Who knows…, one day…, maybe… she would give up on this intoxicating feeling to fall in love with her person – the one who accepted her the way she is.
