Horrible news.
A complication occured after Moyra’s successfull surgery. She was put on aparathus breathing, but could not be saved and passed late in the evening. D-r Vassilev thinks she must have had a neurologycal problem that we have all missed.Farewell, darling, please, forgive us… We only wanted to see you happy and loved…

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
The funds have been raised, Moyra will be operated immedeately, Lucky continues his recovery and Oleg and Snoopy’s long treatment will be provided for.
We hope you are as happy as you have made these poor fellows! We will keep you informed!
Today, we are the voice for three cats and two dogs that desperately need your help and kindness, as they have no one else to turn to…
Lucky
We first heard of Lucky on July 15 – someone had seen him drag along the pavement at Pliska bus station. The people who went looking for him the next day never found him. Three days later, another volunteer searched more extensively and found him three blocks away, dragging himself by the front paws, desperate and inadequate.
In a joint effort, a group of kind people managed to get Lucky to the Central Vet Clinic where he underwent a difficult 4-hour surgery for his broken hip joint. The procedure was complicated by a very large infected wound that the doctor thinks can only be a result of a very fast moving car. Because of this infection and long overdue medical intervention, Lucky’s outcome was uncertain. Two days later he ate for the first time in a week.
Today our little hero feels much better, he tries to get up and now has all the chances of a complete recovery. To his great luck – the bigger part of his bill has been raised and covered by the kind ladies that took his pain to heart.
He still needs 155 BGN of his bill to be covered – the girls have raised over 500 BGN already and his big medical expenses will not be depriving any less-ill dog of their chances. And he is a good boy, he really is – he is a fat, loved community dog who deserves a second chance…
Moyra
Moyra (7 y.o.) was abandoned at the shelter along with her son – Remmy (6). Both are white, both are blue-eyed, both are pets and both were born deaf. And if that wasn’t enough, now both are homeless and Moyra… Moyra has a very scary, really horrible trauma to her leg.
This horror has probably gone on for about 1 year. According to d-r Vassilev (CVC) she has been suffering constant pain since the moment it happened. The bone has been twisted in a most abnormal way, tucking into the hip joint so that the leg is turned completely backwards. The leg has a wound that can never heal and Moyra… well, she does her best to get out of the hands that cause her pain, just to settle down on the vets knees where these same hands would stroke her and she would purr the pain away…
Moyra’s amputation will be more complicated than the usual and will cost 210 BGN with all the discounts we have. If we are unable to raise it – the little girl will not be angry. She has gotten used to the pain by now.
Moyra and Remmy don’t have a foster home, as we are overrun with cats in distress. Please, if you would like to give these two deaf angels a place to stay till the middle of September, call us on 0879 022 675. Both are very sweet, absolutely housebroken and no trouble at all. NOTE: The cats are both 100% deaf.
Scooby Doo and Oleg
These two look scarier than the heroes above, but are not sicker than them. Their condition is called “human cold-heartedness” and the diagnose is: chronic, long hunger and a demodex mange.
Oleg was released in Levski G neighborhood by the municipal catchers, freshly neutered. The people who wrote to us about him described him as “sedated”, but he was actually too weak to walk. Oleg is an old guy, but still looks respectful despite his bold spots and protruding bones. He must have been someone’s faithful guard-dog for many long years, before he was kicked out for looking shabby.
Scooby Doo comes to us from the very center of the city. In the course of a week, we kept getting calls about him – from the far east of Dondukov to the St.Nedelya church, “the naked dog” had socked quite a few people. Still, no one wanted to catch him, and he didn’t want to get caught either – he had seen his share of humans to know they can’t be trusted.
Finally, we got the call we were waiting for – we got him, come get him! Our poor guy was detained by two brave ladies in their little shop, just behind the presidency, where no private vehicles are allowed. We want to thank the kind policemen who escorted us to the shop and then stopped the traffic so we can get out with our car!
At the shelter, the little guy snapped and bit for a little while and when it finally got to him that we have no intention of making him suffer anymore, he started to lick the hands of the vets and keepers. He turned out to be just a sweet, but very frightened little dog – who knows what kind of kicking, stone-throwing and hate he has seen from us, people… And he doesn’t deserve this, he really doesn’t, he is a wonderful dog, you just wait till we show you the renewed Scooby!
Oleg and Scooby are not terminally ill, all they need is a few months of pure love, a bottle of Ivermektine, good food and some supplements to boost their immunity and get their hair to grow back. We can order them everything necessary next Monday, they need 55 BGN more so we can get what we don’t have at the clinic.
