Dear friends,
we are once again forced to ask for your urgent support. These are 5 little heroes from the Bogrov clinic that have no one to turn to, no other hope but us and are angels in the true meaning of this word – creatures sent from another realm to teach us kindness and humility. Please, give them a moment of your time:
Alla
Alla is Middle-Eastern Shepherd, or at least she was bought with this idea, telling from her cut-off tail and ears that were not even chopped-off evenly. She is about 8 months old and was found in the street the way you see her. Alla’s problem is rather obvious – she steps directly on her wrists, just like Shark did when we got him. Unfortunately, her hind legs don’t hold her much either and she is a very heavy animal.
Alla is just a baby and like any baby she only wants to play. Her treatment will go the same way as Sharks’ – good food, fine supplements and loads of love should do the trick for our little elephant. We have everything we need for her recovery, but we had to make her x-rays on credit. They cost 75 BGN.
Ushka
Ushka is a very sweet dog that was brought by kind people the very day we announced the hault of admittance. Her head was all peeled – a horrible sight we will spare you. In a month’s treatment she has had a great progress, but we want to speed up the healing process with 2 potions that should do the trick, one of them we must order by mail. Their price is 110 BGN and it would be great if she can have them as the wound was the size of a man’s palm and it cannot heal well without some assistance.
Ushka (means Ears, because she had nothing on her head but two lifeless ears handing on a tread of tissue) is a wonderful dog, despite the way she looks on these photos. She is calm, sweet, kind, looks you in the eye and doesn’t say a word about the rather painful procedures she must go through every other day. We take her for walks without a lead – she knows she is with us for good. (We cannot say what caused this wound, perhaps a car hit her.)
Kalina
Kalina’s story was a nice one at first, but it became a crazy one the minute money was involved. She was brought (don’t ask how she managed to fall of the balcony) with a broken leg. We explained to the people that we cannot admit her, but they were so nice and promised they only need help with the surgery, that we believed them.
Kalina was operated by d-r Zlatinov at the Central Vet Clinic. He put in a surgical needle with an outer fixture, everything went fine and when the time came to let her go home and pay up the 350 BGN for her treatment… she was abandoned.
Hope you see in her the same sweet little ball of light we see. However mad we are about the way things went, we are also kind of glad she wasn’t tossed out in the street to die in agony in this condition…
Barney
We had told you about Barney when he came into the clinic – he was one of the mangy bunch and we had bragged that we will make him a shiny wanted boy in a month’s time. Sadly, that isn’t the case – he must have suffered his problem for a very, very long time and is now in need of special tests.
D-r Ilieva wants to take Barney to the CVC where the good guy will have to spend 90 BGN for skin and hormone tests. And he is such a lovely dog, we are sure that the moment he is healthy, he will be to be adopted in a good, loving home.
Martin
We were very strict with the decision not to admit new animals. But there was no way we could pass Martin by. You can see it yourself – his bone is protruding from his skin, the pain of it is unimaginable, no dog deserves such a destiny.
Besides this Martin also came in with a severe lung infection that we thought might cause his life, but d-r Ilieva managed to get him through it. Now he is stable and in urgent need of a surgery – he is very young and will grow and his bone has begun to necrotize. The price for Martin’s surgery will be 300 BGN and we need to do it as fast as we can to ensure a better outcome. We pray to be able to help him, he is just a little baby…
