22 dogs started their new life in Holland!

Here follows the group of lucky new Dutch men and ladies – a happy bunch of fortunate dogs that will spend their summer running on green fields and lonely beaches!

A whole group of babies, raised in foster homes by kind people has left:

bojana stacey

Little Bojana – a sweet face in the puppygarten crowd; baby Stacy who is a GSD mix;

Cora (2) DSCN7415

Cora, whose 2 brothers are still waiting for love to find them in the shelter;

brat sestra

Brother and Sister – they never got names;

Lili malcho1 yvette

Yvette, Malcho and Lilly – siblings from a dumped litter.

And here are the puppies that lived in the shelter from the start:

Eeny Meeny

“The bears” are the two remaining pups from a litter that found homes in Austria last month. They are the puppies of a homeless dog that gave birth in someone’s yard. The owners of the house were kind and understanding, they took care of the babies until we were able to take them on and neutered the mother when she weaned the puppies. Mamma was adopted and became their forever dog! And the little puppies are all now in the hands of their loving new families!

Nenya, Samwise and Vilya

These beautiful babies are from a litter of a pet – they are a Malamute/Akita mix. We neutered the mother before the babies were admitted and the owners took care of the vaccinations themselves. Since they were 3 girls and 4 boys we named them after Lord of the Rings. From this litter there is one lucky boy who became British and one little girl – Naria, who stayed here in Bulgaria. Case closed!

It was two years in waiting for Trudy. She is one of Lara’s babies – a mamma we brought to the shelter with 10 very different babies. After Trudy’s departure it is only Joseph who is still waiting. Trudy’s story is very exciting and touching, but we will be telling you more about it when she manages to settle in and her people (who are Bulgarians, living in Holland) find the time to tell us more about her new life.

This little terrier we found is now known by the name Leo. We expected that as a cute koala he would be adopted fast, but it’s OK – a good family is a good family, dogs don’t care about the language their humans speak in, as long as their tone is full of love…

Nia is a dog we first thought to be lost, it was only later on that we found out she was abandoned. She is an exceptional little lady – knows how to sit, shake paws, loves to hug you and has a whole bag of tricks just to get some of your attention.

Johnny

Nia will be living with the amazing Jonny. A true friend of all humans, he is an incredibly social and lovable dog. He was adopted as a little baby, but came back to us a few months ago. We are so glad this wonderful guy will finally get the love he has deserved!

amigo

Adios, Amigo! The good Cane Corso spent quite a while in d-r Stankova’s foster home after his owners left him. He was a nervous and uneasy character, so d-r Stankova’s many dogs had quite the task to teach him to trust and love their huge family. As a result – Amigo became strongly attached to her and did his best to stay… Sorry, Amigo, but we need your space for other dogs in need. But we are 100% sure you will quickly find your new friends in Holland!

foxtrot (1) rembrandt

Last, but totally NOT least, it is the two remaining “tulips” that left – Rembrandt and Foxtrot. We LOVE YOU, dear angels, we hope you have the fabulous life you deserve! The poor giants had to wait so long… but are finally rid of the cage bars! Maybe they will meet their sisters in Holland someday…

We thank:

  • Our amazing colleagues in Holland, who have given so many dogs so much happiness;
  • The fosters and volunteers, whose selfless dedication has persuaded the traumatized doggies that humans are not all bad;
  • The boys driving the bus – Kalcho has been doing his best to cause troubles lately;
  • And of course – the donors that have made this dream a reality!
