We have created Animal Rescue Sofia out of love for the animals and since 2010 we work for them. Every day we give a hand to paws and hooves, every day we change fates, every day we save lives!
Animal Rescue Sofia
Animal Rescue Sofia is a Bulgarian organization dedicated to addressing the issue of homeless dogs and cats. With the help of thousands of people, we have established a shelter for dogs and cats called “Ferma,” where 200 dogs receive medical care and attention 365 days a year. We are always open to visitors and adopters. We strive to find loving homes for as many animals as possible, both within Bulgaria and abroad. On average, we rehome about 70 dogs from the streets of Sofia every month. Our aim is to assist a maximum number of dogs and cats in need, limited only by the resources at our disposal.
Nearly every day, we take in cases of animals that have been run over, abused, or harmed by humans or the environment. We operate using the “Neuter and Return” method, which is the only humane and legal approach to reducing the population of stray dogs in Bulgaria. Animal Rescue Sofia relies entirely on donations; we do not receive funding from the municipality, the government, or foreign organizations.

Help us help them - here every donated cent is lifesaving - for someone's paw, little eye, surgery, or empty belly. The furry friends in the shelter for dogs and cats have only you, and even the smallest help makes a difference, while monthly donations form the foundation on which we stand as an organization. Since we are solely funded by the community - through voluntary donations - we operate with only the monthly budget that you allocate to us, to rescue, shelter, and care for the unwanted animals from the streets. OUR FARM
On the surface, we may appear as a large organization, but we are a small team of people who strive to work professionally with a lot of love. In the animal shelter, every little creature is our friend – with a name and a story. One by one, we have already helped thousands of unfortunate beings exchange the suffering of the streets for a loving home – both in Bulgaria and abroad.
