In the middle of the winter, just before Christmas, the shelter admitted little Raya from the village of Bratanovitsa. She was only 7-8 months old, but already hit by a car, with a broken and infected paw, abandoned outside to fend for herself alone. It wasn’t working out…
Once at the Farm, Raya showed a unique temperament – the human betrayal hadn’t touched her clear heart. Joyful, lovable and full of life – she has the funniest voice in the world, a bit like meowing. Still, her wound turned out to be a problem for the doctors – old and infected, it was very deep and wouldn’t heal.
After three whole months of non-invasive therapy at the Farm clinic Raya is way better. She is using her leg and has put on a massive 25% body-weight. There is still a long way to go before she is a shiny, healthy dog, but that is not to happen here, but in the home of her wonderful new people.
Yes, there is a home for Raya. But it seems she got the continent wrong! If you’ve been following us for a while, then you probably remember the amazing turn of destiny with drathaars Moritz and Mimi, and Herman the kurzhaar. They found love and care in the colorful pack of Susann Langkait in distant Canada. She has been a great help to the hunting dogs in need through the years, but only the saddest of them were lucky to find a place in her own home.
Congratulations, Raya! You were born lucky, darling.
Now the good girl only has to wait for her complicated travel route to be organized and she will be the happiest dog in the world!
