Gorda loves everybody

Posted on 31 January 2012

Really everybody! All two-legged, all dogs, all cats, all children! She likes all the tenderness that she can get and feels best when being loved and warmed up. Because… that’s exactly what she loves most – to be loved and to give love!

Gorda had been through a lot – loneliness and fear, hunger, pain. She probably also lost the babies she gave birth to because she was found with swollen breasts and mastitis but without any puppies following her. She had some fur missing on several spots due to advanced scabies and a wound on her neck. Not to mention how starved she was, she had a huge appetite.

Would her misfortunes ever end? We strongly believe that as Gorda is the most positive and charming girl that we have had the pleasure of taking care of. She is smart, bright and alert, with the most serious intentions to warm someone’s heart and make them smile, even in the worst of days. She is already healthy, neutered and she just never stops giving kisses. Because good always wins over bad and Gorda is sooo good!

And you, who read this small article, are you ready to match the power of your love with Gorda’s and, by giving her a home, become an unbeatable team?

Karly

Posted on 26 January 2012

Тhis is Karly. A healthy one-year old boy, beautiful and… homeless. One day he just appears in a local neighborhood, decides that he likes it and… remains there. He lives on a street next to a block of flats. Karly sleeps on the freezing ground. He feeds on whatever he finds. He often is hungry, lonely, beaten and chased away. But what a heart he possesses! And there’s so much love he wants to spread!

Karly didn’t lose his trust in humans, although he is not welcome by everyone in the neighborhood. He is always eager for human attention. He loves to snuggle in someone’s feet and to wait for a little bit of tenderness and care. Sometimes he plays, gives kisses, and sticks up his tummy wutg hope that someone would pet him.

He is devoted to people, and to animals. He attaches truly and faithfully. Karly is an adoptive father to 2 stray puppies, which he looks after like his own. He doesn’t pay attention to cats.
Karly happens to have excellent hygiene manners and has no problem walking on a lead, it is possible that he used to be someone’s home pet, before he got thrown out of home as a useless item. He is smart and reacts to commands. And he very, very much would appreciate someone to love him!
Karly is looking for a small spot near a person with a big heart. Is he looking for you exactly?

Miracle Mia

Posted on 12 January 2012

Friends, this is Mia. She was named after Maya – the sweet girl that got a miracle home for Christmas. Only this time the story is a bit different, because with her Lady Luck has been constantly in and out of touch…

This little mouse was found in a dangerous industrial zone – alone, sad, tired and ill. She couldn’t use her back leg and her backside was falling sideways. Somehow  she crossed the path of a kind lady who couldn’t pass her by and took her to a clinic. The doctors there had a strange discovery – Mia had her spine and pelvis broken. But! She was operated  successfully by an unknown helper – 2 or 3 weeks before she was found. Unfortunately she was put back on the street before she has recovered. In pain and alone in the unfamiliar neighborhood the poor girl hardly managed. But somehow she did! Because her will for life is stronger that any bad luck or pain or hunger or anything… She has firmly decided to live and not only that – to love us, people, with all her heart.

Meanwhile she is in the care of a lady who loves her, but has two cats who don’t. It is a little nightmare with them being unhappy and Mia unwelcomed. So we are looking for people who would like to help Mia recover  in a safe environment. She has a small limp with her back leg but it is in way a problem for her to live a happy life. So, do you have some space for a 6 month old girl with great hygiene and a huge heart?

How I Met Your Father

Posted on 11 January 2012

Kids, this is actually a very common story. It happens regularly in Sofia but still lots of people fail to admit that that is how many homeless dogs are born.

Blondy is a stray female. Not exactly homeless because she occupies an abandoned construction site with her pack. Somehow she was never spayed, so she came into heat and met the father of her babies.

He was a husky with owners. One of the many who refuse to neuter or put a leash on their dog.

And so there they were – seven new homeless babies. Two fell and were separated from the mother for too long so they passed away. And now we present you:

Puppa is wonderful lady who hurt her belly (her puppa as children call it) when she was a small baby. She is mostly white with sharp wolf-like ears.

Ares looks the most like his father. He is social and has a lot ot energy. Loves to play.

Shishko was fluffy as a baby with akita-like cheeks. However he grew up a more refined young boy.

Daisy is a bit shy. She has some yellow on her back and some freckles on the muzzle. A real lady.

Bimba is the most social of them all. She just loves people and runs to meet those she knows. Then she puts her butt on the ground and makes you rub her belly.

Kids, these five are all vaccinated and dewormed. They are social, playful and they love both people and other dogs. They let you hold them and run after people. Do you see your dog among them?

Deddy

Posted on 09 January 2012

Here he is. The great survivor – an old guy who was dumped on the street with his mighty 3 kilograms – to make it on his own.

Deddy is a pincher/chihuahua mix who has seen much in his long life. One of his back legs is totally useless and simply hangs there as a garnish to his amaciated body and witty eyes. He also has some breathing issues, but most of all, he has a will to live and the most wonderful temperament.

Unlike many small dogs Deddy is a guy with a sense of humor and a wonderful attitude. His priorities in life are:

  • Keep warm;
  • Eat well;
  • Receive maximum love.

What a wonderful list! We should all learn from it, because it reveals the simple art of living.

True that Deddy sometimes uses his diper, but it is always with great care and dignity. When he is not eating, hugging or begging for more food Deddy likes to spend his time cuddling the hot-water bottle and dozzing off.

Don’t think he is some sort of dying old dog! No sir! Deddy was very curious about the 3 cats and 2 dogs at his foster home and even made some sort of playful enthusiastic jumps (if you can imagine jumping on 3 legs) around his 30-kilogram roommates, who were least to say shocked and retreated.

So, what will it be for Deddy? Is he really an unwanted piece of garbage or is there someone in this world who has some love for this old guy. True that he looks kind of shaggy, but his heart is as big as his appetite and ladies and gentlemen, that means HUGE:
