People still say pets have nothing to do with stray dogs. But if so, why do we keep on finding puppies without mothers, in boxes? Probably the stray mothers put them in the boxes and left? Or, maybe it is time to open our eyes and admit – they were all alone, because their mothers are still un-neutered in their owners’ yards… And in 6-7 months we will find new puppies in boxes…

There were 22 unwanted Bulgarian stray puppies. They came from the streets of Sofia, Plovdiv and villages around… some even came as far as Momchilgrad.

These puppies were lucky. Some would say – very, very lucky. They were found, some of them fostered, others vaccinated while they were still in the Municipal dog pound and than taken by us. But what they have in common is not just the irresponsible owners of their mothers or the fact at one point they were part of the Animal Rescue Sofia history.

They share one more thing, the best thing ever – they have homes in a country much warmer to the ones who cannot speak. They are now all in Holland, and their owners speak for them.

We proudly present: The dwarves. Litter of 6, left in a cardbox near a road in Sofia. Found and brought to us. They spent two months in a foster home:

And now we can happily show you their new homes:

Pip was adopted by Angelique and her family. As you can see, she has many new friends:)

The last girl, Bali,  has an extremely interesting life with an owner who is a devoted biker:

Riding the bike was scary only the first time, said her new mother, Hariatie.

Of course, the boys are not behind on luck! Take a look at them – don’t they already look local?

They all share the same story – abandoned, found and rescued and, of course – happy end!

Only Dara’s story is slightly different, but it all comes to the same conclusion – a lot of people need a lot of education on having a pet. Dara was bought for a Staffordshire terrier. She grew a bit, the owner found out she is not exactly what he paid for and – voiala – she became one of the unwanted! To Dara’s aid came a man who saved her from her “owner” and called us for help. Here she is in her new homeland:

And to end this happy list, we’ll show you one gentleman, who’s not a puppy, but got lucky as one! Here he comes, Swiffer – happy as he can be:

That’s all folks! Thank you for being there for us!
It’s the only way that we can be there for them.
