After 3 hours of surgery and 44 pieces of bird-shot – Batta has been set free of her pain and her leg has been successfully amputated!

So, as donations were being raised for Batta yesterday and we prepaired her to go to the vets for the amputation, the municipal dog-catchers arrived. They were bringing dogs for neutering from the area of Botunetz.

The dogs were all in very bad contition, beat, shot, hurt… It is not a rare sight for us, but when a large brown female came out – even we were shocked:

This poor girl has had her leg TORN off, we have no clue how. Her bones were shattered and she could hardly move. With a bone sticking out she was agonizing quietly in desperation.

As you can see – she was somebody’s dog, by her condition we can tell she has had many, many births… She must have been superb as a puppy-factory, but the owners didn’t need her with a damaged leg an simply dumped her outside as it often happens.

We called her Mata. And put her in the van with Batta, so that Svetlio can get her x-rayed, hoping that there will be some money left from Batta’s donations and we could help her as well.

Here is the good news: thanks to your generocity – Mata will also get the  surgery she needs so badly!!! You have been amazing with your responce and she will not have to wait for the money to be raised, we almost have the summe we need for her. The operation should take place at the Good Idea vet Clinic today:

Cross your fingers for this sweetheart! She is such a good and gentle dog.

Her leg will have to be amputaded as well, but she will have a chance of life. She and Batta will be 2 more 3-legged dogs at the shelter, waiting for a chance to have a true, loving home.
