To be or not to be?

In theory we understand that we can’t help everyone.

In theory, when the shelter is overcrowded and you can barely keep up caring for the animals already in it, there comes a time to say: “I’m sorry, I can’t help this one, let it die.

In theory, when they show you horrible-looking, ill (BUT possible to treat) dogs and tell you: “If you don’t take them, we will euthanise them this very moment“, there is a way to leave and not look back.

Turns out things are so very different in practice…

In practice, you can’t pet the bold head of a good old dog and look him in the eye with the thought: “You will die“.

In practice, you can’t overlook the wagging tail of the ill puppy seing the many years of happy life it could have and say: “We don’t have the money. You must die.

Practice prooves that theory is wrong when you love animals.

So, with all the overcrowding and lack of money, today we admitted 6 demodex-ill dogs from the pound of Seslavci. We could have overestimated ourselves and not be able to help them all. It could be too late.

But at least we will know we’ve tried. Because if we stop trying, than it is not our place to be here.

To help us save the 6 ill dogs, you can donate for the Bogrov clinic.
